Run modifiers

Modifier Combos

Loading certain modifiers together unlocks a combo bonus on top of their own effects: 17 pairs and 15 trios that fill all three slots. Each combo rolls a tier when it becomes active, and can rarely mutate.

A newly active combo rolls a tier once that adds damage, max HP and nucleotides; unloading and reloading can't reroll it, and the run that uses it clears the roll.

  • Common 40%: no bonus
  • Uncommon 27%: +5% damage and max HP, +2% nucleotides
  • Rare 17%: +10%, +5% nucleotides
  • Epic 9%: +15%, +7% nucleotides
  • Legendary 5%: +22%, +11% nucleotides
  • Mythic 1.6%: +30%, +15% nucleotides
  • Prismatic 0.4%: +40%, +20% nucleotides
From the Codex

Consumables crafted between runs that change the next run.

Fun fact: A loaded modifier stays loaded until you run out of it.

  • Latent Copy: +1 extra life
  • Golden Genome: +50% nucleotides
  • Adaptive Shell: cells hit 20% softer
From the Codex

A change in a genome's sequence. Most are harmless or harmful, and a few help the organism survive.

Pair

Dash recharges 35% faster.

  • Hit and Run + Primed Polymerase

  • Latent Reservoir + Capsid Reserve
From the Codex

The time between catching a virus and feeling sick. The virus is multiplying, but the body hasn't noticed yet, so there are no symptoms.

Fun fact: Flu incubates for about 1–4 days, measles about 10–12, and rabies can take months; HIV's silent clinical latency can last 10 years.

Mucus in the Codex

Killer T cells have another 20% less HP.

  • Perforin Block + Cytokine Decoy
From the Codex

A "killer" T cell that hunts down infected cells and destroys them by punching holes with perforin and injecting granzymes.

Fun fact: Each killer T cell is trained to recognise one specific antigen, then multiplies into an army once it finds a match.

Cytotoxic T Cell in the Codex

The host takes medicine half as often again.

  • Immunosuppressant + Immune Exhaustion
From the Codex

The host feeling sick and taking medicine when Detection is 75 or more.
